COAT OF LIGHT- SOPHIE HULME

IS THIS THE PERFECT COAT FOR PEOPLE WHO SALIVATED OVER THE PREEN TROUSERS MADE OF WHAT MAY PERHAPS BE THE EXACT SAME FABRIC...?
HERES AN ALTERNATIVE OPTION FROM SOPHIE HULME... I SAY 'ALTERNIVE' BUT AN ALLOVER TONAL BLUE SEQUIN COAT AND TROUSER COMBINATION COULD LOOK AT NA-TU-REL AS THE GLITTERY OCEAN ITSELF!

WATCH THIS ...MC MONG-CIRCUS

MC MONG- camp rap?

Just stumbled across this piece of pop wonder from this South-Korean rap artist which sort of reminds me of Nsync's videos of days gone by (no strings/pop)- but you know they threw in the towel so perhaps Mong is going to take over the international gap in the market. ITS EVEN PARTLY TRNSLATED JUST FOR US ENGLISH SPEAKERS. Watch all his other videos on youtube (because christmas= time all over the hands) - its incedible how the stylists just neglect all the women ever featured!- luckily MONG makes up for it though.

The illustrative quality of the surface design is just completely adorable in this collection- which you will recognise if you saw Katy Perry's outfits from the MTV awards. The blue and Green zoo dress makes me want to quilt baby blankies for a living... this idea lasting for at least a few minutes! I hope colour sticks around for a while... for if it does Indian fashion week is going to creep up and all over Womenswear Daily and American Apparell will ride right over the wave of recession- and keep all those happy mexican expats in L.A employed (i hear)... the future is not ours to see- que sera!

Shotcouture Anniversary Giveaway! (Extended to 20th January)

It came a bit late, but it's here! Shotcouture has completed a year, and it's time for a celebration. It's been a wonderful journey, and could not think of a better way to thank you all. I am not going to reveal all the gifts at once, though. Only the two beautiful Fabindia silk scarves, to begin with. The rest are equally, if not more exciting gifts. Wait and you shall be rewarded. To win one of these goodies, you have to answer a simple question.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT INDIAN FASHION?

There are SIX fabulous gifts to be won. Post your answer in the comments section of the blog-post. My decision on the prizes will be final. The Giveaway is open only to US, Canada, Europe and Asia.

The last date for sending in your comments has been extended to 20 January.

After the final names have been selected, I will send out individual mails informing the winners about their gifts.

EDIT
Alright... revealing the rest of the gifts. Fabindia silver pendants, Ritu Kumar Leather Clutch, and a Ritu Kumar Scraf; all up for grabs. I have received some lovely comments, but there is still time. Spread the word!

CRAFTACULAR CHRISTMAS

Normally craft to me  means middle-aged women with aubergine mohair cardigans and sandals with socks- but the BUST Magazine event was far from visual dustiness- more like a colliderscope of colour and CAKE CAKE CAKE.
Unfortunately my camera raped and destroyed the memory card and I have pinched these photos of this fun christmas event that Gemma Lister and I had a stand at. We  made completely disturbing cakes and forced people to eat them- I still managed to recreate the imaginary banquet scene from Hook though- gorging on the neon icing like no tomorrow, except these cakes were actually real! I was super-happy though because Me and Gem swapsied accessories, and I have been wearing my diamond ring necklace pretty much every day since- I am like Frodo with STYLE in this thing.
I was super impressed by POM POM lady who I discovered is on a mission to bring people together/ change the world by having group creation sessions- I can guess her chistmas tree is adorned with the cosy bundles! I am really hoping she is going to make POM POM shoe clips out of cassette tape- i would definitely buy them!

DANCEWEAR CRAZYNESS FROM CHAMPZ

.................
While searching for wondrous jazz BOOTIES which seem only to be availbale on badly designed dancewear websites... i came across this extremely exciting duo of dancewear designers who seem to be living the dream... the Britney Vircus tour dream perhaps.

So well done to britneys stylist who probably thought- ahhh yeah-the fancy dress trend prompted by Zac Posen's minnie mouse collection is the perfect way to use cabaret inspired costume to re-elevate Britney as the ultimate queen of POP... she couldnt really fail!

I think these CHAMPZ will have mass demand for their insanely coloured creations with all the sequin craving extreverts now free to roam around like crazy brazilians in winter -while completely on trend- even if they are targeting 13 year-old amateur performers...

So Gorgeous!!!

The day we went to Bondi Beach wasn’t the best of weather for a day out on, well, a beach. The wind was very cold, and being true Mumbaikars, we aren’t used to the low temperature there. But in all fainess, the beach is beautiful, with lots of activities. A two minutes walk away was the Bondi Beach Flea market which turned out to be a great place for some bargain buys. And the market had a lot of stuff for the shopoholics. But what stole out hearts was this small, but utterly breathtaking place- So Gorgeous. It is a treasure-trove of all things beautiful, from French inspired homewares and furniture to gorgeous jewellery. The owner, Rebecca, started the shop after an earlier stint as a lawyer and a chef/caterer. And then, So Gorgeous happened!
Rebecca’s own words describe her shop the best. “I endeavour to fill So Gorgeous with only beautiful things that I love. When a customer enters my shop I treat them like they are visiting my home. From the moment you walk in, your senses are fulfilled. You can smell it (vanilla bean), you can hear it (great background music), you can see it (soft colours and glittering jewels), and you can touch it (gorgeous fabrics and body products).”

We found a lovely gift for a friend who is getting married. And that was just one of the many lovely things this shop has to offer. Among other things, we saw crystal charms, lockets, jewelry boxes, votive holders, mirrors and baby products. So, the next time you are in Sydney, please make this shop a Must Visit for yourself. And stock up on things that are just So Gorgeous!

6267 - WHY GOODBYE WHY???

Its easy to neglect Milan fashion week when searching out suprises for oneself. I mean, most of those guys out there know what they are doing, and do it well.... formulaic refinement. To be honest though, i got most excited about seeking out 6267 as they were really the light at the end of the tunnel for those who arent such a fan of routine. Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi have been working form their studio in the pretty little city Mantua since 2006 and have kept themselves fresh out their- rolling out pretty innovative cutting ideas for our pleasure.

While searching for an internship years ago I rang up their studio and someone very sweet answered- when i told her I understood no italian she laughed and said- "we only live in a small city- are you sure you wont be lonely??" awwww

So...on a belated search for their last collection and descover LOW AND BEHOLD- THEY ARE NO MORE! Ok so they have been designing for Gianfranco Ferre instead, and doing a super fine job so perhaps they are throwing all their energies into that because the collection was INCREDIBLY HOT (dispite the ice-cool tones). I am excited to see how they grow and dominate with their collective acts of genius.

... and then they brought us this;

GIANFRANCO FERRE SPRING SUMMER 2009
