I was wondering how long it would take me to miss France... really miss France. To be able to grasp the fact that I spent 1/12 of this year over there, and suddenly wishing I was there again so soon.

So there it is 115 days, and I've got the itch again.

Charming Nice

Fortunately for lack of motivation, I never uploaded the pics from the last couple of weeks of my trip from my handheld Canon, which I used for restaurant pics, the shameless self pic for proof I was on location, and the occasional video clip for enjoyable moments. Though the quality isn't the same as the DSLR, I think these are actually more special... and so glad they were preserved.

There is something so beautiful about big ships in the turquoise ocean.

There was either a show or movie being filmed while I was in Nice. I ran into the crew on both days. The first day I passed them outside a restaurant near the market by the opera and beach. The second day they found me, as I was eating outside a Mediterranean place. I had a front row view of them doing makeup touch-ups inside a bakery, then a few moments later the attractive actors were doing 'takes' walking down the streets of Old Town Nice.

Brocante Gourmande

Candes - Saint - Martin

Listed as one of France's Most Beautiful Villages, Candes- Saint - Martin was a top priority of mine to explore in the Loire Valley, and fortunately it was less than 15 miles from the chateau where I stayed in Bourgueil (to come soon!) Tucked away from the main street as you climb up the "panoramic trail" up on cobblestone streets and pass old, old stone farm homes with a view of the river and hills of vineyards is the Brocante Gourmande cafe with all kinds of books and treasures. My only regret was I showed up at off hours when they weren't serving lunch, so I couldn't try to the food.

 

It's good to be back and have more time for the blog with focused posts;

though I hope you enjoyed the diary version of the travels.

But now I'm excited to focus on features for you...

 & there will be more of Candes - Saint - Martin in the future!

Driving in Loire

Allow me to introduce you to my little car in France. We've been through so much together already and seen places I've awaited for so long to see. It's been beautiful and warm, the red poppies, and roses in bloom along the French countryside, and where my chateau awaits me in the evening in a village amongst many local vineyards along the Loire river. We've driven through Candes St- Martin (one's of France's most beautiful villages), Azay le-Rideau, and visited the beautiful Chateau de Chenonceau yesterday.
