I really have seen no music video which i love more than slave to the rythym- the visual world it presents is honestly the most delicious thing i have ever witnessed, and i love that it exists because of Grace Jones...
So everyone's going on about her come-back and adornement of philip treacy creations, and I think she may be responsible if the MASSIVE HEADGEAR trend strides on and upward in the coming year.
Personally i love her pride- her gladiator stance- i think the flimsy hunch will have to be flattened by this in model shoots of the near future. Yeah, Yeah American apparell will never stop the promotion of 'the boyfriend's' clothes on a hunched 'caress me im so careless- no, i really couldn't care less!" kinda-girl. Actually i am into that fragile floppy look, but it just gets blown out of the water when next to an image of a glossy-skinned sexual gladiator.
The androgynous boy/girl-look may be staple amongst the east-london peoples these days, but how androgynous is it? Really its more like a girly-gay but non-sexual sensitive scandanavian designer-look. Grace Jones offers something else-theres nothing flimsy or questionable about her sexuality- its simply doesnt matter what it is- she is not trying to be anything than in her own skin- filling it out and using it well ( and O.M.G- at 60! If anyone has seen the 'Harold & Maude' 70's movie- just compare her with Maude for a minute!).
