Beach Day

Travel Thursday

So I mentioned I had a beach morning yesterday... with all my planning I needed to take a break and appreciate what was right in my own backyard. Ahh... virgin sand all to myself!

Though I had some threatening clouds for about 20 minutes they passed with nothing more than a measley sprinkle.

It was so nice I just might go again tomorrow!

With the weather starting to warm up... I'm craving grandiose parks, gardens, and beautiful old architecture.

Scenes from the Weekend

Naples, FL
14 Days of Love

Love is ... Family & Fun.

I drove through Alligator Alley yesterday from Fort Lauderdale to Naples to visit dad in his new condo for the night.

We had a great time at Joe's Crab Shack, and walking around old Naples. The weather was so nice, it didn't even feel like weather...

The new hair. Not sure how I feel about my bangs yet. A lot of maintenance for my wavy hair. They make me realize how much I look like my mother & when I don't straighten them I look like the elf from Ruldoph.

We went to a nice British Pub after called The Jolly Cricket! Don't you just love that name?

This morning we took a walk, and saw a lighter embeded in the sidewalk...

Dad's view from the lanai, this boater kept zooming by!

Hope you had a blissful weekend!

Scenes from the Weekend

His Birthday Weekend

We had a nice sunny Saturday afternoon picniking on the intercoastal watching the yachts and manatees go by, with amazing LaSpada's subs, so good they've appeared on the blog before here and here...

Frosting noses...

My Christmas present from the UK finally arrived from my friend Sheila...
Cute purses and knitting materials...
I spent all day in the kitchen on Sunday cooking and cleaning...

...testing recipes and photographing in the afternoon light.
Can't wait to share what's cookin' in our 14 Days of Love, Feb. 1st - 14th!
Stay tuned...

Have a Great Week!

Thalassotherapy

Fort Lauderdale Beach
Travel Thursday

For those of you who read Tuesday's post, may have thought I'd gone off the deepend. It really wasn't as bad as it sounded. Just wanted to get a post out, but had nothing inspiring or photos on my work computer. Didn't want to wait until I got home, because well I couldn't, I knew my hand would be in pain. Therein lies the real frustration, that my days are spent tied up with things I'm not so passionate about, and have not modified my schedule yet to spend my days focusing on what I feel they should be focused on.

So, I drove to the beach after work. Funny thing is, I live 1 mile west of the beach. I drive 25 miles each way to work everyday, but never make time to go to the beach. Incidentally, when I do, it's because I desperately need to hear the waves and feel the ocean air, generally when everyone else has left for the day. The sad thing is when I do go, it's usually because I'm in a bad mood or need clarity, not just because...

When I saw the moon as I drove home that sealed the deal, I HAD to go. Especially since many other people in the world are snowed in, and I have the capability to quickly change to my flipflops, so I grabbed the camera, ran back out, and headed east.

I didn't bring my tripod, as my intention was to empty my mind. Yet, I can't get away from thinking like a blogger or photographer. It was therapeutic anyway. I didn't use a flash, and was as still as I could be laying against the sandwall on my towel, but I think the blurry effect turned out kind of cool.

The moonlight glistened as the sun sank lower and lower...

Elephants

Animal Week

We'll be wrapping up Animal Week with the African elephants! I love elephants. They are so sweet and fun to watch. We arrived at feeding time, and their behavior while awaiting their leaves was quite charming. They were trained to sit and laydown. We even heard one of them purrrring.

Thanks for the many viewers this week
who showed their support during Animal Week!
I hit over 40,000 overall blog views this week.
Stay tuned for a giveaway when I reach 50,000 views!
