Petros Chrisostomu thinks BIG...literally. The photographs above are of oversized sculptures of heels! Although you can't wear these, you can admire adoringly. Imagine owning one of these pieces in homage to the shoe  (a love we all share). If you had one of these, nobody would doubt your love of shoes...but where would you put it? :P

Walter Robinson: "I use my work to investigate the ways that we create identities out of the products we consume. Branding, corporate logos, mascots, cartoon characters, advertising text and signage are the semiotic sources I draw from. To undermine the power of product logos that surround us, I tweak their scale or context, or combine them in disjunctive pairs. 'LucyandBart is a collaboration between Lucy McRae and Bart Hess described as an instinctual stalking of fashion, architecture, performance and the body. They share a fascination with genetic manipulation and beauty expression. Unconsciously their work touches upon these themes, however it is not their intention to communicate this. They work in a primitive and limitless way creating future human shapes, blindly discovering low – tech prosthetic ways for human enhancement.'

Absolut Machines | Absolut Quartet

The Absolut Quartet is a multi-instrumental music-making installation combining art and technology to create the equivalent of a classic human quartet. It is an 'automated multi-instrumental orchestral machine, a large-scale electromechanical sculpture consisting of three instruments and thousands of parts, working together to create one piece of music. The main timbre is a marimba played by balls shot from a robotic cannon. Other components include a series of wineglasses played by little robotic fingers and an array of robotic percussive instruments'.

John Casey | Bunnywax

'John Casey is obsessed with fictitious human morphology, which he explores in his ink drawings and small sculptures. At first glance, his works seem to portray a menagerie of deformed creatures. A collective analysis reveals this array of oddball creations to be a series of psychological studies — self-portraits of the artist's inner psyche in all of its multifaceted incarnations. Some sad, some horrific, and some whimsical, these characters evoke responses from laughter and sympathy to disgust and discomfort. While one might call Casey's work the exorcising of inner demons, his creations inspire more empathy than they do loathing. By depicting the grotesque as pitiable, John Casey illuminates the darkest corners of the mind, seeking redemption for all of us.'

"The recent work produced by sculptress Harma Heikens shows life-size orphaned children, smeared with dirt and scantily clad in rags. They are busily engaged with money, food and clothing. Their cartoon-like clothing and expressive glances make them appear like a cross between porcelain Hummel figurines and personages from the Manga comic strips. Heikens uses culturally determined symbols wherein the representation of the child can be seen as a metaphor for the near future. Working within the playful idiom of popular culture and making use of techniques of temptation derived from the advertising world, she calls forth visions of a befouled world terrorised by economic and sexual exploitation." Many creative endeavors begin with a nicely sharpened pencil and a two dimensional surface. My obsession with the point has led me from two dimensions to three. The texture created by a mass of pointed ends is alluring, but is intimidatingly sharp and hard. A tension thus arises between desire and repulsion. The opposing blunt ends offer a different aesthetic experience: a delicate mosaic, a smooth spotted skin.
