Truckee Evenings

Some fun things about Truckee in the summer are free Wednesday evening concerts which are conveniently located a block from home.

I packed a gourmet sandwich containing soppressata, arugula, and goat cheese paired with some white wine.

Another favorite thing of mine is the al fresco dining with mountain views for lunch whether it be at Starbucks for a chai or Dragonfly for their Shrimp Udon Noodle Soup with special cilantro pesto.

I've also been enjoying inventive salads on the back patio...

But so far my favorite thing about Truckee in the summer is Truckee Thursdays featuring the farmer's market with tasty street food I can wait to share with you!

First Day of Summer

I don't know about you, but the first few days of summer automatically lifts my mood, even though it has already been Hot, Hot, Hot in Florida!

Here are some ways I like to enjoy the summer...

& staying cool with healthy and refreshing smoothies!

When people ask about my favorite part of my trip, it's too hard to narrow down. But I was the happiest was in London. Each day I took at least 30-60 minutes to just be out in the park. Sit and people watch. Lay down and stare up at the sky through trees. Each time was a completely different experience. On this day in April, it was the onset of warm sunny weather... one of those first days of spring where everyone flocks outside, showing skin, and lapping up sun rays in the hope of a blissful summer.

I've started my indoor container garden this week, and have been enjoying the addition of lots of fresh herbs in my meals. Not to mention, I light candles in the evening and turn it into a little evening Zen garden.

Summer Fashion Brought to Light

Summer has finally hit San Diego this August week, and as you can see, these girls are are ready for it. I spy flip flops, retro sunglasses, cardigans, designer bags, and a feminine fedora.

The sun is out, the sky is blue, it's beautiful ...and so are they!

It Glows!

First, I must confess this post is not for us ladies. However, it is really cool. These neon-dyed tanks started as simple American Apparel shirts, but a group of four college friends decided to make them into their own small line of "high quality" neon tanks. These things glow in black light!
