TOM GUNN...SHOE DESIGNISTA'S OF AUSTRALIA.. LITTLE BIT BETTER THAN NAT-SUI.

Whipping out my little red book... of fashion correspondent resplendour... ( yes... all my fashion critic tongues and thoughts are housed within this little red treasure book xoxo). I come across a pair of shoe loving designista's.. whom I had discovered way back in the when... ?.

Tom Gunn is the name.. Tom Gunn is the game!. ahh yes.. these two talented Brisbanite shoe loving junkies.. have created what you could call.. a more stable existence of designer shoes in the Australian waters.

Personally... perched high on my fashion throne........ hmmmmmm, me.. Madam Alexandra E. loves the name.. TOM GUNN!! sounds so sublimely strong.. and masculine..considering it adorns the feet of shoe loving feminities. Oooooohhh but Tom Gunn is just that.. masculinity encasing the delicate footing of every feminista ( female.. styling fashionista).

Hmmmm it's Italian lux leather scent.. engulfing every fanciful foot!. Delicious for the foot! xoxo.

Pedicure your feet ladies...and for those maleista's ( male styling fashionista's)... you can try it too.

Birthed from the creative minds of Gabrielle Thompson and Shannon Gunn ( hence Tom Gunn).... These two designista's have introduced their own styling shoe apparel for all fashionista's to enjoy.

I personally... feel from my fashion instinct.. that the current collection is somewhat slightly too matured??? .. I don't really envisage a younger stylista fashionsita particularly slapping these creatives on.

The paint palette is definately classy.. but once again.. reminds me very much of what I would wear at a resort type function.. instead of a very fashion climbing event????? ( you do understand what I mean???). xoxo.

Not quite yet Australia's very own Blahnik or Choo.... but definately similar to Nat sui?? but more modern than Nat sui??.

My critic tongue advised the two fashion flaring 'sole' sisters... to keep up the love of designing shoe.. ( which of course through sheer common sense.. they are doing)... but possibly break away from the safe classy resorty feeling?? The name Tom Gunn.. resembles strength.. I can so see.. 'out of this earth, over the top' designs'.... think about designing a collection for the Australian version of a 'Posh Spice' ( aka Mrs Victoria Beckham)... ( now we know how much this A - list celeb loves a shoe sky scraper).
Playing it too safe at the moment... bring out the 'daring' factor please.
I have yet to cross these two shoe closet lovers off my fashion list... as I still believe they are at the cusp of transforming shoe culture... very soon.......... but only if the 'design' permits. Mwah xoxo.
Do your homework fashionista's... check out: www.tomgunn.com
P.S. Don't be deterred creators of Tom Gunn... Madam Alexandra E. can see more potential.. tweak your next collection .. and you'll get there. Still somewhere on my fashion list xoxo.

Style rating: Applaud ( stylish effort) - 'I just want to see a little bit more of their creativeness.. outside of their comfort zone'.
Love me or hate me

I spy

something green...

This little guy was just hanging out...

minding his own business

shedding his skin

until I came along snapping photos

but he whipped up this exotic pose for me

as he gazed out at the tropical pool below,
reminding me to take a moment and pay attention
to all creatures large and small.

Have a great Sunday my friends!!!

XOXO

The Great Wall Of Mumbai!

So, things are a little better. Thanks for all your kind words. My mom is a little better, though it's a long, painful road to recovery.

I needed a pick-me-up. So Tarun and I went for the Mumbai Wall Project. It's a collaborative street graffiti project, wherein people are invited to come and paint the walls along a particular street in Mumbai. The paints and other material is provided by the organizers. I did a simple pretty design. Not bad for a first attempt at graffiti. Tarun and his two friends - Niharika and Kunal- made the Pakman.

BLAH BLAH RAMBLE ABOUT INDUSTRY BLAH

In a belated viewing of the September, I Issue fought through 15 minutes of seething anger at the system until I surrendered to eventual enjoyment of what is an incredibly well-timed great marketing idea , and for the same reason respect Wintour for doing a Warhol and making fashion and her own celebrity the driving force of an enterprise. Grace Coddington is all expression and forms subject of interest in itself but mostly because when the same real-time pauses are applied to Anna, we get the polar opposite, a mirror. Her self-consciousness has no vulnerability seemingly because it is in itself a controlled presentation of her own status.

A returned vacant stare to the camera says to me;

I see you watching me and I am watching you right back, because my purpose is to be acknowledged as a brand. The less I do, the less I say, the firmer the image becomes. I am like photograph, static and unchanging, and you will buy it because it is a reliable product.
What you see is what you get....

but that's all your getting.

Is this a newly popular operation- Industrial self-maintainance perhaps?

Although I have massive respect for great business minds, I am also a bit more inclined to the French way of thinking in that high-fashion is an Art as well as the product of a process in operation for and as a result of industry. I truly believe it can exist both simultaneously and intertwined.
However, The American fashion industry (if epitomised by Wintour) seems slightly adverse to the pedestal for clothing as an object of art- there is no critical allowance for a personal objectivism and interpretation, as there would be for a sculpture for instance. Their industry is very much more the art in itself, so if it doesn't sell, if it doesn't operate to service the industry of fashion and its requirements, it is without value to the fashion media.

I cannot help but wonder whether this kind of industry-conscious authority is simply
resulting in designers pandering to the industry by following advice NOT because they doubt their own , but because they fear the repercussions if they don't follow the heavy 'recommendations' made to them.
I know for sure I would be pretty terrified if I had to present something to Anna Wintour, but mainly because I don't respond to silent authority at all well...
If someone faces you with negative reactions with no wish to enlighten you with the WHY then its truly disappointing. I mean the WHY is the most interesting part, and if all you get is a horrified glance or a mild smile or a yes or a no then to take it on board makes just as much sense as shaking a magic 8 ball every season and hoping for the best...
Obviously that general mentality qualifies for blacklisting, and the opposing argument is a good one- You cant criticize the rules of the game when your not playing it properly anyway.

Time all over the hands

Random pointless fact- this woman broke the longest weeding dress train record this year-

Making it herself, she created 1,579 metres of floucy white stuff and decorated her dress in 7000 swarovski crystals. All I'm saying as I hope she took a sabbatical with mental health issues- as sewing that amount of ruffles either qualifies you as clinically insane, or as a contender for project runway.

Chinese Bride Lin Rong has trampled on this feeble effort since- with her 2000m train- those lines are the train laid out in grid form

Respect for the dedication.

CHAD PITMAN

Chad's hazy-style photos remind me of improvised shorts from the 1960's or something. There is an element of spying on the self-conscious glamourati as they go about their adventures in hullucinatory bliss... I HEART THE BLUR

Layer some orphaned auras over my ensembles any day as if you got the light, you got the essence of all things... !

Oh wait- Am I attempting to inflict my spiritual beleifs onto the web anon via breif fashion notations? Wrong answer.
