With the weather starting to warm up... I'm craving grandiose parks, gardens, and beautiful old architecture.

Taken in the gardens of Vizcaya Mansion in Miami.

Happy Traveling!!

Daisy Dukes White Top on Top

Name: Daisy
College: Revelle
Major: Psychology
Spotted At: Goody's Place and Market

Outfit:
Brown sugar brown jacket
: "I almost got nothing here, I got this jacket in Korea."
Button Down Top: Korea
Short shorts: Urban Oufitters
Sheer Tights: Forever 21
Zig Zag Bag: Metro Park
Fringe Binge Shoes: Wild Pear

Q: How would you describe your fashion?
A: Really girly! I usually wear subdued colors, flowy clothes and comfy clothes. I try to wear plain tops with lots of accessories. But I really like prints as well.
Q: What is your favorite piece you are wearing?
A: My white top. I like that it works with so many different kinds of outfits.

Miss Daisy's outfit is "grade A" fashion. With her comfy jacket matching her shoes and ease of mobility of the outfit, nobody could have done it better. Her purse may be zig-zaged out, but her simple outfit allows her to wear the bag tactfully without hurting your eyes with crazy patterns.

Suggestion: Daisy couldn't be more right. A white top is such a versatile, must-have item in your closet. You can change it's look by wearing a belt, or putting on wildly colorful jewelry.

Orange Poppyseed Loaf

Good Eats Wednesday

I have many cookbooks that I have been eager to dive into... and now that I have a little more time, I'm excited to start. So here is an Orange Poppyseed Loaf that I have baked from The Sweet Melissa Baking Book from the bakery in NYC.

This loaf is super delicious and extremely moist. You can see on my handwritten notes that I have also tried the lemon version which was equally as good, but there are some variations in the ratios on sugar and such. Also, I didn't make the glaze in both instances and thought it to be extremely delicious without...

Orange Poppyseed Loaf

1 whole orange, washed well
1 cup sugar
3eggs
12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) of butter (melted)
2  1/4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4  teaspoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon poppyseeds
Mix wet ingredients in a bowl, and mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Fold the two together.
Bake at 350 F for 50-60 minutes.

*I used only one stick of butter.
If you opt for the glaze see photo for recipe.

**I just have one recommendation for the recipe which calls for the whole orange or lemon to be pureed in a food processor, but the white part of the orange and lemon can make it a tad bitter, so it may best to grate the zest, then cut the fruit and then puree the fruit minus the seeds.

Bon appetit!

Wild Wear

Feeling bored with just plain old jewelry? Then spruce up your outfit and don animal jewelry! They are an easy way to make a wildly wonderful statement. Whether it's a lion ring or a zebra ring, each one will reflect your inner animal showing your bold nature.

What is great about these rings is that you don't have to be dressed up or dressed down to wear them to match. They are a versatile accessory that is easy to love and pretty to look at.

Photo Collages

This is My Tuesday

Since I pull out my camera for a ton of little things, many shots don't often make it to the blog, so I thought I would share some random photos with you from the past two weeks.

Going clockwise:

1. The brunch I promised to show you. Healthy whole wheat french toast and egg whites (p.s. I totally disregarded my wheat allergy and suffered itchy rosy cheeks for the day - it was worth it).
2. Architecture shot around my building.
3. Our little cat Boots relishes in his few moments outside each day. He's our little Bengel Tiger...
4. From yesterday's post... as I watched my camera began to slide on the tripod... or maybe I was practicing my surprised expression.
5. Rocks from the beaches of Wales. Still have them from one of my first European excursion at 16... shot them for my Set of Three for Scavenger Hunt Sunday.
6. Fresh dough about to go in the oven for breadsticks with oregano. See the finished product HERE.
7. Balcony railing and shadows.

&

Here are my shots of the Supermoon. Better way late than never.
The first one was as we were driving slowly and I was pretty much sticking my head out the window to attempt a shot as the moon rose over the water. It was so cool, we saw the whole thing, but could not find parking in time! But I did manage to get the second one with the tripod directly from the sandy beach!

Question for bloggers: Which method do you use for collaging?
I've been using Picnik, but it seems to crash my internet all the time. Now I use Picasa.
Just curious about your preferences.

Happy Tuesday!

HAVVA MUSTAFA - LUXURY FOOTWEAR AT ITS FINEST

'Havva' is unmistakeably the new 'luxury' foot wear gracing the streets of the international globe.

Designed with what clearly exhibits as; impeccable 'classic and high end' tastes.  It's designer and creator, Havva Mustafa stems from a family steeped in the existence of shoe artisans.

A brand that is clearly nurtured not only by family history, but also from the love of it's creator.  Havva painstakingly, with love, designs and creates a vision for each collection. The designs breath a sense of class and opulence by way of its slender and sleek heels and it's combination of architectural fine elements.

Each design is crafted by talented shoe artisans in Italy xo  ( if the story behind Havva.. could sound any more luxurious ).

I love the choice of colour palette, the consideration of height and depth in design and the evoked notion of class and style in each unique design.

High end footwear at its finest.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Photography

This week has been quite busy, so most of these photos were taken some time ago, but new material to the blog.

1. Decay (old/abandoned).
Petrified Wood in Arizona.

2. Groups of Three.
I did make time to take this pic today... guess it could also count as #5 "Me time". :)

3. Kitchen (consider a self portrait for this one).
Well this one was from Thanksgiving, checking on our turkey!

4. Things that make you go "Hmmm".
When I was wandering in Gruyeres, Switzerland I encountered
some workmen lifting this piece of art with a crane. Hmm...

5. "Me" Time.
My best "Me" time is when I'm exploring new land.
Lake Maggiore, Italy.

Participate in Scavenger Hunt Sunday with Ashley Sisk at Ramblings & Photos.
