After working as a New York fashion model in the 1930's, Susan went to Hollywood to audition for the character "Scarlett" in Gone With the Wind. Although she did not receive the part, Miss Hayward did not give up. Susan would later then go on to play leading roles in movies throughout the 1950's and 60's.

Entrepreneurette

I bought this book in 2005,

but I've brought it back down off the shelf,

as it is currently serving as a good guide to where I'm at today.

Ever since I was little girl I was planning events, bake sales, lemonade stands,

and have forevered dreamed of being an Entrepreneurette.

So, I've been diligently tucking pennies away, 

longingly passing up those one of kind finds on Etsy,

and depositing into the penny jar of Dreams.

After my peaceful vacation, I had the clarity and confidence to believe

that Now is the time...

Plus Size Vs Fashion World Size.

The debate over real size models Vs Fashion World Models...... hmmmm never ending airing of debatable opinions.

A certain fashion agent was miffed over their 'real life' models not being selected for a particular fashion show this year.... ( as they were welcome with open arms last year).. well honey.. fashion is fickle..you're either needed or you're not!xx, get over it.. and trump on!

Applause, applause to Mr Alex Perry for making a recent comment to the Daily Telegraph.. about his right to choose his own models, stating " Nobody is going to tell me how to pick models" - Alex Perry. I couldn't agree more!!

The Fashion World is a Realistic Fantasy World.. where the imaginations of the creative minds come to life. What starts off in a blue print format... soon comes to real life played out on the catwalk.

I have before aired my thoughts about this topic.. and I still haven't changed my position!.. I don't know about you,... but I love attending shows that depict a model muse.. who displays the creation according to her creative master.. ( the designer). I am inclined to be propelled into a fantasy fashion world.. where I can view models sashaying down catwalks to the rhythm of their own beat.. and not to the rhythm of their over sized hips.... ( yes, yes.. this part is going to cause controversy.... but hey it's my opinion~!xx).

I am also not against the right for designers to happily choose their image!.. if so and so designer requires a plus size model for their creation.. then so bit it!.. but please don't take away the designers rights to also have the option of 'the other model'.

Maybe it comes down to the Designers' Rights!!!??? xxx mwah.

Great Designers planning to show at La Vecteur In Belgium...

So very very hard for me to spell this lable name FLEVEAU DOLLINGER, as its a bit dylexia predujice! Anyhow this French duo who are self-proclaimed perfectionists interested in refned cutting details are going to be debuting their first mixed Womens and Mens Collection in Belgium this September.
Their aim is to create something truly original, and I think they will indeed... Im keeping my eyes open.

Yeah... it's the weekend! It's always so hard jumping

back into the swing of things after a nice vacation.

But, I get to spend time with the little kit-kats before

we go up to Ohio next weekend, and we can get out

out of this humidity we are having in South Florida.

RSFF - ROSEMOUNT SYDNEY FASHION FESTIVAL.... ...

On another shore.......: So this is the event following after MBff. The equivalent to the Rosemount Fashion week... but open to the public.. and not just to the select fashion pack industry.

Dare I compare the two??? MBFF to RSFF??... no I'm not going to even attempt.

I will focus on the RSFF (Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival) for now. Had a quick look at their programme.... and let me say, for all true dedicated fashion lovers and followers... pack your fashion cases, strap on your heels, throw on a cape and head yourself to Sydney between the 23rd August - 28th August 2010!!... For those in the land of OVERSEAS..... either get yourself there then, or else...follow it deeply through the Aussie fashion Glossy Mags.

The line up on designers showcasing.. is an Australian fashion lovers dream... creations bore from the minds of ALEX PERRY, CAMILLA AND MARC, SASS AND BIDE, WAYNE COOPER, ED HARDY, GINGER AND SMART, ANNA AND BOY, JULI GRBAC ...and a MASSIVE LINE UP OF MUCH MORE!

This is the festival where you come to view the big talents of Australia's Fash Pack Industry!xx

It's a shame because there were a few designers showcasing in the MBFF.. whom I would have loved to see take their five minutes of fashion public appreciation of fame at the RSFF... hint hint... Subfusco... Neon Heartache ( possibly???, or maybe are you??, but I couldn't find you on the programme list?).... ( You would receive so much more press on that side of OZ).... but HEY... MBFF.. is a great place to start spreading your wings.. for some exposure... and after all if it's your home grown turf then.. it is befitting... ( so then how come.. Sass and Bide aren't showcasing at MBFF? but instead at RSFF? xxx.

Bravo to the organisers of RSFF... about to pull off another fashion event extravaganza for the general fashion lover public!!.

Summer Lovin' & Pets

We all go a little crazy for our favorite summer time produce...

I was so excited to see signs for Home Grown Tomatoes

on my trip, that I stopped to buy quite a good amount.

I've made fresh salsa every night for dinner this week... it's been bliss.

I remember when I was a little girl I would eat tomatoes

as if they were apples straight from our garden.

Seems my dad is having problems with theft in his garden,

his lovely little Coco -- beats him to his crop.

Coco loves to eat cucumbers, jalepenos,

and best of all, juicy watermelon.

I have my own little critter problem to contend with as well...

I had to hide all those perfectly ripe beefsteak tomatoes

on the top of the refrigerator from my little Sage.

I can't count how many times, I've been scared in the middle of the night

to the sound of rummaging as if a burglar has broken into our home.

But when I turn on the lights, it's only little Sage

looking at me with big doe eyes happily

sopping up the juice from a splattered tomato on the floor.

She will even come running if I say the word, "Mato!"

Back from Barca!

It's official! Barcelona is one of my favorite cities on the planet. It's a beautiful, vibrant, culturally alive city and I am in love. The Barcelona vacation was picture perfect, with loads of shopping, late night parties, walk on the beach, gallons of Sangria, and cheese. I loved the weather, loved the food, loved the people, and loved the shopping options.
My favorite, though, was the La Roca Village. Just 35 minutes from the city centre and home to over 100 luxury boutiques with exclusive price reductions, the Village is a dream come true for every shopper. We took a bus to the Village, and were instantly floored by the Catalan-style village, with tax-free shopping, restaurants with outdoor dining areas, and children's play areas. The village had pretty much all my favorite brands, from Burberry, to Desigual, and from Versace to Sita Murt. What a delight! Not surprisingly, my friends and I came back with bulging shopping bags, having exhausted all our Euros. My best bud Roseanne and I later sat down to a relaxed lunch at one of the restaurants, and cooled off with Sangria and some awesome tapas.
